You've probably abandoned us long ago. But if you do what to hear Matt's drawl without seeing him or the pretense of buying him a beer or suchlike, he's on the airwaves (occasionally).
You can check him out at CIUT 89.5, on a morning show in the morning Take 5. He's mostly a newswriter but has had some on air blurbs and bits.
More on our adventures in volunteerism, careerism and failure as they develop.
Maybe even the occasional outburst of snark.

Woe! Woe!
Dear readers,
I am sick. Real sick. Real, ick. This means lots of fluids and the like, though blogging has not yet figured into my recovery. Thankfully it is not Haligonian mumps, flight-induced tuberculosis, or SARS. Just good gastroenteritis. If you've gotten the shits in the last couple of days, live in Toronto, and want to be able to claim you were at the epicentre of the Shits Epidemic '07 drop a line in the comments box. Until then, lots of sleep for me.
That is all.
xoxo

A Week of Drudgery (Personally)
This week, much has happened. I mean CNN seriously devoted a whole two hours to Paris Hilton and Anderson Cooper saying, in shock, "I don't get it". In any case, this week I was unable to provide you your fill of what is happening coast to coast to coast in S2S2S(n) or the wacky commentary of Internet Wars. If nothing else, we provide you with cumbersome titles around here.
Unfortunately, I can't blame a vast, worldwide conspiracy (normally called slow news-week) for my lack of posting. Who hasn't had something to say about all that has been going on? Oh, yea, me.
ALSO, I'd like to gloat: POLAND beat Brazil today. In U20 Soccer. That bodes well for the Polish Wolrd Cup soccer in...under twenty years? Needless to say, tomorrow, my POLSKA t-shirt and ITALIA jersey are sidelined. I'll only be waving one flag.

NHOP
Lauren, I don't know how we did it...but we did. All that, without needing to stop by the National House Of Prayer. Or the International House Of Prayer. We beat the odds.
To the reader you may wonder why we would twice mention post thresholds (40 and now 50). The fact of the matter when we hit 40 we didn't think we'd make it to the next ten, the big five-O. We live on the edge of our seats here at MALIM: BAAN, and the emotionally raw, volatile relationship Lauren and I have leaves us at constant risk of total meltdown.
We hope you're enjoying us so far.

The Loonie Tops 93 Cents, Matt and Lauren still going for free
Ladies and gents, and ego-boosting 2 commenters,
It's been a pleasure to make it all the way past 40 posts (with only few, brief metapauses). At this landmark occasion we will be marking it with an index. These posts provide a glimpse at some of the inside jokes, so that you too can be au courant with our Matt and Lauren hijinks. (All this, without having to watch Mitsou Gélinas) Admittedly we are young and have a-ways to go, but we build and hopefully things will stick.
Robo-Manatee 1, 2, 3
Dr Ruby Dhalla 1, 2
Frisco (Dog) Bag Fiasco 1, 2
Markham 1
Lauren Loves Conrad
Internet Wars
Maybe we'll actually be a podcast some day...Feel free to congratulate us below.

Boisclair
So, the exam time post-slump is mostly over. That is, if Lauren and I can pull ourselves out of the bottle.
Speaking of pulling out of slumps and abusing intoxicants: PQ leader Andre Boisclair has resigned his post just in time for the opening of the first Assemblé nationale where he PQ is neither government or opposition since the party's founding.
This outcome has been described as inevitable as well as "triste", and RDI has been covering the story with a fine-toothed comb since about 11:00am (Eastern, 9:30 in Newfoudland). While CBCNewsworld was telling me about... another Taiwanese parliamentary brawl. Sometimes I worry about the pulse of the nation.
Speculation on the whole thing has immediately turned to Gilles "Gills" Duceppe to step down from the BQ to the PQ. After all that business Gills did of wooing English Canada with his wolf-like gaze and his nasal debates, it would be a shame to see him leave the national scene. Or would that be move to the national scene?
Also, Muchmoremusic's show "Nosedive" was doing a profile of Tara Reid. You know, since Tara Reid's boob has been exposed people have been wondering: who would do best in the next sex-gross out comedy/horror movie? Dr Ruby Dhalla. Not an imposition, just a suggestion.

Happy Easter
Now our lenten fast-off is officially and completely behind us, we can post in a show of solidarity.
*SHOW OF SOLIDARITY/RAISED FISTS*
MATLM (BAAN) would like to reaffirm our commitment to providing you with delicious, delicoius content (now including meat entrées). Well-rested and fortified with protein (and with new motivation in the form of pre-exam procrastination), we hope to bring you more of our best.
That is all.
In solidarity,
-Matt&Lauren
